Wider weather episode

On the morning of the 21st, a cold front was located just west and north of Lake Erie, across southeastern Lower MI and southern ON. This front drifted southeastward to near the major axis of Lake Erie by early evening and then moved little through the wee hours of the 22nd. The front encountered primarily moderate to strong and elevated MUCAPE, and moderate to strong effective bulk shear over and near the lake. Two separate lines of multicellular thunderstorms occurred along and in vicinity of the front during the late morning and early evening. Some of these storms generated gale-force peak wind gusts.
