Mesonet station XGUL on Great Gull Island measured a 43 knot wind gust.

A broad upper level trough and associated surface trough moved through the area during the afternoon/evening hours. With cyclonic flow aloft, daytime heating resulted in the development of showers that produced gusty winds and small hail. Winds over 34 knots were recorded over the waters.
