What the National Weather Service wrote

A trained spotter reported major flash flooding around Cubero. Several roads were washed out or inundated with water. Many other roads were forced to closed. The local fire station was also flooded. Damages are estimated.

The wider storm

With the high pressure center to the east of New Mexico, a steady plume of moisture was present across western New Mexico on June 19, 2022. With these large moisture values, it was an active monsoon day across the area with scattered to numerous thunderstorms favored areas west of the central mountains. Cibola County was hit hardest as severe thunderstorms dropped large hail, and heavy rain caused flash flooding.
