A member of the public in Crownpoint spotted a funnel cloud that did not make contact with the ground.

Wider weather episode

An active monsoon pattern continued across northern and central New Mexico as deep moisture streamed into the area on June 27, 2022. An easterly wave that enhanced convection the previous day was still in the area, again aiding in the development and intensification of afternoon thunderstorms. In Crownpoint, a funnel cloud was spotted for several minutes, but reportedly did not make contact with the ground.
