A county official reported thunderstorm winds blew down a tree along Buttermilk Road near the Screven County Line.

Strong heating under a ridge of high pressure set up an environment with large mixed layer convective available potential energy, large downdraft convective available potential energy, and strong low-level lapse rates supportive of damaging winds as upstream thunderstorms entered portions of southeast Georgia.
