Supercell storms in northeast South Dakota moved into west central Minnesota during the mid-day hours, producing an EF1 tornado by Artichoke Lake, ping pong sized hail in rural Traverse county and winds of 60 mph near Graceville. Heavy rain was also associated with the system with COOP observers measuring 3.78 inches in Wheaton and 2.42 inches in Browns Valley. The heavy rain associated with this system produced flooding in rural areas of Big Stone and Traverse counties.
