Event narrative

Buoy just west of the northern tip of the Cedar Point Peninsula recorded a peak convective wind gust of 43 mph.

Wider weather episode

A surface cold front drifted southeastward across western Lake Erie during the afternoon through early evening of the 1st as an occluded low meandered over northeastern MB. A line of multicell thunderstorms generated isolated gale-force peak wind gusts as the storms moved eastward along the north-central OH shore. These storms occurred in a warm sector that exhibited moderate MUCAPE, moderate DCAPE, and moderate to strong effective bulk shear.
