A trained spotter reported quarter size hail to the north of Basin along Highway 789.

Wider weather episode

Severe thunderstorms developed across northern Wyoming on the afternoon on May 17th. The strongest storm brought quarter size hail to the north of Basin in Big Horn County. Another strong storm moved to the west of Casper and brought up to nickel size hail.
