Heavy Snow in Central Chaffee County Below 9000 Ft, Colorado

Heavy Snow May 20, 2022 – May 21, 2022 · Central Chaffee County Below 9000 Ft, Colorado

What the National Weather Service wrote

Heavy snow of 9.0 inches. Salida.

The wider storm

A large upper level system moved across the region through the period, and brought very beneficial moisture to portions of south central and southeast Colorado in the form of rain and heavy snow. The heaviest snow, of one to two feet, fell over and near the Pikes Peak region and southern mountains. While the moisture was beneficial, this heavy wet snow did cause significant tree damage across the area.
