The wider storm

An upper level trough was over the Rocky Mountains and an upper ridge was over the southeastern part of the country. A dryline was present across parts of West Texas with fairly high mid-level moisture and instability to the east of this feature. These conditions resulted in thunderstorms developing and producing severe wind gusts and wind damage.
