Wider weather episode
A low pressure system moved northward from the Central Plains to the Northern Plains on May 12th and lifted a warm front across the Northland bringing two rounds of storms to the region. With Lake Superior still being cold, this stable air at the surface prevented much of the winds in the storms to reach the surface. However, a few gusts were reported at Silver Bay and Port Wing with the strongest gust being 48 mph at Silver Bay during a storm during the late evening.
