Event narrative

One to two feet of standing water from heavy rain with thunderstorms occurred at the intersection of Riverside Parkway and 7th Street as the stormwater system got overwhelmed.

Wider weather episode

Ample monsoon moisture paired with the aided support aloft from a passing shortwave resulted in numerous showers and thunderstorms across western Colorado. Some storms produced heavy rain which led to a localized debris flows and flash flooding in portions of San Miguel and Mesa counties.
