What EF1 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF1 is moderate damage: roofs badly stripped, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, windows broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 86–110 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

NWS storm survey found the path of an EF1 tornado that touched down near Old Kimbrell Road just north of Oak Grove Farm Rd, where numerous trees were downed. The tornado moved northeast knocking down multiple trees as it crossed Berry Rd, Parris Bridge Rd, and Sandy Ford Rd. The track was briefly lost in the remote bottoms of the Pacolet River northeast of Sandy Ford Rd, but was picked up again along Buck Creek Rd, where the most significant damage was observed. A large outbuilding lost much of its roof structure at this location. Other outbuildings saw less significant damage in this area. Tree damage continued northeast to Henderson Hill Rd and Revels Road where the tornado lifted.
