Numerous reports of uprooted trees across portions of southern Barbour County.

The air mass on Saturday, May 21st, was becoming increasingly unstable in advance of a approaching cold front. Modified morning soundings indicated a very unstable air mass by the afternoon. Surface based CAPE was in the 4000-4500 J/kg with enough dry air aloft for damaging downburst winds. The severe threat would emerge again on Sunday as the cold front moved through Alabama.
