Event narrative

The AWOS KIKT measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 52 mph or 45 knots.

Wider weather episode

An upper level ridge was centered over Florida on the 21st of May. A shortwave trough moving northward on the western periphery of that ridge passed right over the local area, providing enough upper level support to support a few severe thunderstorms over the coastal waters. One offshore site was hit by multiple storms, one right after the other.
