The WxFlow mesonet station XBBH at Dodge Island measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 46 mph/40 knots.

The wider storm

A surge of deep tropical moisture moving north over South Florida interacted with an upper level trough over the eastern Gulf of Mexico to produce widespread heavy showers and thunderstorms through most of the day on May 20th.

Began near Key Biscayne (25.7700, -80.1500).
