The NOS site NPSF1 at Naples Pier measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 51 mph/44 knots.
The wider storm
A surge of deep tropical moisture moving north over South Florida interacted with an upper level trough over the eastern Gulf of Mexico to produce widespread heavy showers and thunderstorms through most of the day on May 20th.
Began near Wiggins Pass (26.1316, -81.8076).
