Much below normal rainfall persisted into early May across coastal sections of Collier County, leading to the continuation of severe drought (D2) conditions which began in April. Periods of heavy rainfall during the first week of May led to gradually improving conditions.

Dry conditions since December 2021 persisted into the beginning of May across Collier County. Periods of heavy rainfall during the first week of May led to improving conditions by the second week of May.
