The tornado touched down 4 miles south of Fitler in Issaquena county, then traveled northeast and moved into Sharkey county, 3 miles southwest of Onward. The tornado lifted 2 miles southeast of Onward. Four mobile homes and 4 frame houses were destroyed. Many trees and power lines were blown down. Two people were injured in a house near Fitler.
