A cold front across South Dakota triggered a line of severe thunderstorms that moved into a favorable environment, with hot temperatures in the 90s and muggy conditions, across west central Minnesota during the late evening. Straight-line winds of generally 60 to 70 mph were produced, including a measured gust of 71 mph both near Odessa and Graceville.
