A 61 mph wind gust was measured 1 mile east northeast of Howe during a day with several hours of 50 to 60 mph gusts behind a cold frontal passage.

Wider weather episode

A very strong cold front brought wind gusts well in excess of 60 mph to many locations with traffic incidents and some damage with large signs downed and tree damage along with building damage.
