A severe thunderstorm dropped quarter size hail on the Dixmont/Jackson town line in Maine.

An unseasonably hot and humid airmass was firmly in place across New England with highs well into the 80s across the interior areas away from the coast. A surface cold front swung through the state during the afternoon triggering thunderstorms across interior areas. A few of these storms became severe with damaging wind gusts and large hail being reported.
