Mesonet station K79S 1.4 miles NE of Fort Benton (GTFWFO) measured 59 mph wind gust.

Deep southwesterly flow aloft developed in advance of a vigorous upper-level low leading to the development of storm activity, some severe, across much of the CWA, but particularly along the Hi-Line. Although some hail was produced, this was primarily a strong, gusty wind event.
