Ambient weather station measured a 70 mph wind gust.

Deep southwesterly flow aloft developed in advance of a vigorous upper-level low leading to the development of storm activity, some severe, across much of the CWA, but particularly along the Hi-Line. Although some hail was produced, this was primarily a strong, gusty wind event.
