Event narrative
Metal roofing and side panels were blown off a pole-shed with metal sheets strewn about and wrapped around trees near the intersection of State Highway 87 and CR43. Numerous poplar trees were snapped or uprooted across Spruce Grove and Runeberg Townships. Time estimated based on radar and public reports.
Wider weather episode
A potent low-pressure system impacted the region during the afternoon and evening hours of May 30th. A larger scale Derecho tracked from far southeastern South Dakota, through much of western through northcentral Minnesota. Widespread damage was reported from damaging winds, and tornadoes. Hail up to 1.5 inches was reported as well.
