A surface low situated over northern New England continued to push northeastward throughout the day, dragging a frontal boundary with it. This boundary became east-west oriented and stalled across the northern Ohio Valley throughout the day, placing Kentucky and areas southward in a warm and humid (unstable) air mass. Showers and storms developed during the afternoon hours across portions of the southern Ohio Valley, eventually leading to a MCS which traveled southeastward and into the Jackson forecast area by the evening. Winds were the main concern with storms throughout the day, especially along the MCS. SPC included much of central and eastern Kentucky in a Slight Risk for severe storms with wind being the main threat. This came to fruition as storms ended up producing widespread wind damage across portions of the southeast Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic.
