A prolonged period of unseasonably dry weather with very few rain events, combined with unseasonably hot weather, resulted in severe drought (D2) conditions developing by the end of July across all of northwestern Arkansas, and extreme drought (D3) conditions developing across Benton and Carroll Counties, and much of Washington and Madison Counties. Monetary damage estimates as a result of the drought were not available.
