Wider weather episode

During the evening of the 3rd through wee hours of the 4th, Lake Erie and northern Ohio were located in the warm sector of an occluded surface low that moved northeastward from southeastern Hudson Bay to far-northern Quebec. A line of multicell thunderstorms accompanying a pre-cold frontal surface trough moved generally eastward and generated gale-force peak wind gusts along portions of the northern Ohio lakeshore. These storms encountered weak to moderate MUCAPE, moderate to strong DCAPE, and moderate effective bulk shear.
