Torrington Airport ASOS station (KTOR) measured an afternoon high temperature of 107 degrees Fahrenheit with a heat index exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wider weather episode

An anomalous ridge built over the Front Range area resulted in record heat approaching all-time values. High temperatures across southeast Wyoming reached the upper 90s and even the triple digits in spots along the North Platte River valley. Cheyenne came within one degree Fahrenheit of the all-time high temperature.
