Emergency manager reported numerous trees blown down around the city of Chester. One tree fell on high tension power lines on the south side of city and caused widespread power outages.

Wider weather episode

A line of thunderstorms moved south into the South Carolina Piedmont during the morning. One of the storms produced brief damaging wind gusts in Chester County.
