Heat Index values ranging from 105 to 113 degrees on June 14th and rising into the lower 100's once again on June 15th. Milwaukee County Medical Examiner determined that a 39 year old female and a 89 year old male died from heat related causes. The female was found in her house and the gentleman was found collapsed in his backyard.
Wider weather episode
Persistent southwest winds brought hot and humid conditions to southern WI. Heat index values well over 100 degrees occurred. Cooling centers were opened in some communities. Two heat related fatalities occurred in Milwaukee.
