Event narrative
The lightning caused Raspberry Fire started on June 14 in the Chiricahua Mountains in Cochise County. Thunderstorm wind gusts of 30 mph helped the fire to quickly grow in mountainous terrain to more than 400 acres. The fire became fully contained on June 25, aided by several days of rainfall. Fire suppression costs for the 413 acre fire tallied just short of $1 million.
