Water from Cuchillo Creek was crossing over the road, making it impassable.

Wider weather episode

Monsoonal moisture moved to about the Continental Divide with storms developing off the higher terrain of the Gila Region and moving north. About an inch of rain fell quickly west of Winston and caused Cuchillo Creek to overflow.
