Two sensors measured gusts of 58 mph or greater, including asos kctb Cut Bank Airport which measured a 59 mph gust.

Wider weather episode

A potent August trough brought strong 700mb flow across northern portions of the region. Sufficient mixing was able to mix a few wind gusts meeting criteria to the surface. Further southeast, sufficient instability resulted in two severe thunderstorms.
