ASOS reported high temperature readings ranged from 103 to 106 degrees during the event in the northern portion of Zone 63.

Wider weather episode

High pressure over interior northern California brought widespread moderate heat risk to the Sacramento Valley with areas of high to extreme heat risk in the northern Sacramento Valley and adjacent foothills. Triple digit temperatures were observed across much of the central to northern Sacramento Valley on July 28th and 29th with the hottest temperatures on July 28th. A new daily high temperature record was set in the area.
