A seasonably strong trough progressed from the northern Great Plains over the Midwest on 6/15, providing ample forcing aloft to support convective initiation along a cold front stretching across portions of WI, MN, and IA during the afternoon. These storms quickly grew upscale into a line that continued to travel northeast through the evening. Eventually, these storms tracked across portions of the northwest Lower Peninsula and the eastern Upper Peninsula, producing marginally severe hail and damaging wind gusts late in the evening.
