Lorain Harbor C-MAN Station (LORO1) recorded a peak wind gust of 61-mph from a thunderstorm.

Wider weather episode

A surface front moved little across central Lake Michigan, northern Lower Michigan, and southern Ontario from the early evening of the 7th through afternoon of the 8th. By the early evening of the 8th, the front had moved southeastward as a cold front to northwest Ohio, central Lake Erie, and the northwest Lake Ontario shore as a low developed northeastward along the surface front in southern Ontario. Ahead of the front, multiple rounds of thunderstorms with gale-force to storm-force peak wind gusts impacted western and central Lake Erie as they encountered primarily weak to moderate MUCAPE and effective bulk shear, respectively, and moderate to strong DCAPE within the warm sector.
