A heat burst knocked out power to the airport and NIFC, along with multiple neighborhoods on the Boise Bench.

Wider weather episode

A strong pressure gradient moved into the region on the eastern side of an upper level low, bringing instability to the region that allowed for elevated thunderstorms to occur throughout the evening. As this pressure gradient moved into the region around 1am, a localized heat burst occurred over the Boise airport and near the Boise Bench neighborhood. Strong winds at 67 mph were measured at the airport and it caused local power outages.
