A few strong thunderstorms initiated across far northeast lower Michigan near Saginaw Bay during the afternoon/early evening hours of 7/23 amidst weak forcing and modest instability. One storm ended up producing severe winds that resulted in trees down south of the West Branch area while the other moved out over Lake Huron quickly after forming.
