Numerous trees and power lines were reported down throughout Scotland County.

Wider weather episode

An occluded front interacted with a hot and humid air mass to produce a cluster of showers and thunderstorms that moved east across central North Carolina during the afternoon and evening. These storms resulted in widespread wind damage across roughly the western half of the region. There was also a report of flash flooding in Stanly County.
