Thunderstorm winds brought down a swath of several trees throughout Bland County.
The wider storm
A persistent hot and moist air mass allowed for high levels of instability in southwest Virginia. A cold front moving southeast through the region interacted with this unstable air mass and formed numerous severe thunderstorms which produced damaging winds.
Began near Stowersville (37.1778, -81.2138).
