Event narrative
Bulloch County Emergency Management confirmed two heat-related deaths in the county. The coroner reported that a couple, who were both in their eighties, died in a mobile home on Tall Timbers Lane in the Leefield community near Brooklet.

Above normal temperatures and elevated dew points resulted in a period of very warm and humid conditions across southeast Georgia in late July. The Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport (KTBR) observed max heat index values in the upper 90s during the late July period. The heat and humidity caused two heat-related fatalities in Bulloch County.
