A few trees were downed by thunderstorm winds on Griffith Creek Road and West Clayton Road.

A persistent hot and moist air mass allowed for high levels of instability in southeast West Virginia. A cold front moving southeast through the region interacted with this unstable air mass and formed scattered severe thunderstorms which produced damaging winds.
