Peak wind gusts at mesonet stations included 68 mph at Point of the Mountain North Side, 62 mph at I-80 at MP 107, 62 mph at I-215 at MP 16 Taylorsville, 63 mph at BACCUS/SR111, 64 mph at Beach Kennecott, and 58 mph by the Salt Lake City International Airport ASOS.

Wider weather episode

A widespread high wind event across Utah was followed by strong thunderstorms associated with a system spanning a three-day period. These storms produced numerous instances of severe wind gusts, in addition to a tornado, a report of hail, and flash flooding.
