Event narrative
Received video via social media of flooding of the Price River in Helper. Video showed flows at or above bank full with large debris contained in the flow. Downstream river gage along the Price River at Woodside indicated a peak flow of 749 CFS at 1100 am MDT. Time of flooding estimated by radar.
Wider weather episode
A widespread high wind event across Utah was followed by strong thunderstorms associated with a system spanning a three-day period. These storms produced numerous instances of severe wind gusts, in addition to a tornado, a report of hail, and flash flooding.
