Over 30 firefighters from the Michigan DNR and the Seney National Wildlife Refuge fought and ultimately contained the 203-acre Creighton Swamp Wildfire over a four-day period which burned in a swamp north of Highway M-28 in northern Schoolcraft County. The fire burned in a remote area which was difficult to access, east of County Road 454.
