Wider weather episode

Above normal rainfall occurred for all three counties in East Central Colorado during July. Rainfall amounts ranged from three to ten inches, with the highest amounts occurring in western Kit Carson County. The above normal rainfall caused Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties to improvement the drought status. Despite the above normal rainfall Yuma County drought status worsened to D3 Exceptional Drought for part of the county.
