A weather station near I-90, just east of Anaconda measured a wind gust of 64 mph from a thunderstorm.
Wider weather episode
The combination of CAPE, minimal SHEAR, and dew point depressions of 30-40 degrees led to a thunderstorm being able to produce severe winds.
