A fire in and around the U.S. Army's Pohakuloa Training area on the Big Island of Hawaii reignited in August. The original blaze charred more than 2000 acres of brush in July, but the area affected grew to about 17,000 acres in August. The fire was 90% contained by August 17. There were no reports of serious injuries. The cost of any damages was not available.
