Event narrative

Chaffee county sheriff reports rock and mudslides along Highway 285 just north of Poncha Pass. CDOT was called out to clear debris.

Wider weather episode

Monsoonal moisture along with a passing mid level disturbance assisted with afternoon and evening thunderstorm development. A few stronger storms did develop, producing isolated heavy rainfall with localized flash flooding, and large hail.
